I live and work in Idaho Falls, and I get local service businesses here found on Google.
What Idaho Falls actually searches for
When I pulled three months of Search Console data for Hi-Teck Cleaning, "commercial cleaning Idaho Falls" brought in 1,363 impressions. Nothing else came close.
That's how people here search: the service plus "Idaho Falls." They even misspell it. "Idhao falls" shows up in the data with real searches behind it. (Google still figures it out.)
The same data turned up something stranger: hundreds of impressions for cleaning searches in Post Falls and Coeur d'Alene, five hours north. Google was showing an Idaho Falls business to people who'd never hire it. Finding that is part of the job.
Why the map pack matters here
Search any trade plus "Idaho Falls" and three businesses show up on the map. They get most of the calls.
